Will Washington unleash the dogs of yet another war? The hurling that now emerges from the White House and the Pentagon is unnerving to say the least. Justin Raimondo describes the preparatory propaganda, but also questions if it will be as effective as it was before. Nevertheless, as he makes clear, important Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton are hardly champions of peace. Hillary has even refused to rule out the use of nuclear weapons –in any of the places where the U.S. is now wrecking havoc.
Only world-wide, grass-roots citizen pressure can do any good now, and this will only work if it is addressed to the Democrats. The Republicans are already collectively deranged and profoundly hypocritical
Even as the hound-masters gather in their spoils, they plan new business ventures. Frida Berrigan (see reference below) lists the massive military assistance that the U.S. is shipping to the Middle East, arming old foes in the name of peace. How will these weapons be used? Certainly they won’t be stored unused in forgotten warehouses in the deserts.
Matt Taibbi (see reference below) has described the war-for-profit contractors and their relationship to the Pentagon and congressional overseeing committees. The military’s sentiments for civilian government can be summed up as simple disdain; they communicate from the comfortable position of people who know they will never have to take responsibility, either for the sloppy jobs they do or for the heartbreaking consequences of their corruption and their utter lack of empathy for their fellow men and women.

¿En Washington se soltarán de nuevo los perros de la guerra? El aullar que emerge ahora de la Casa Blanca y el Pentágono produce desosiego, por lo menos. Justin Raimondo describe la preparación de la propaganda bélica, pero también cuestiona su capacidad para convencer a la población hoy en día. Sin embargo, deja claro que Demócratas como Nancy Pelosi y Hillary Clinton escasamente representan la paz. Inclusive Hillary ha negado rechazar el uso de armas nucleares aun en los lugares donde los EE.UU. ahora está en guerra.
Sólo la presión universal de parte de los ciudadanos del mundo pueden ayudar ahora, y esto, solo si está dirigida a convencer a los Demócratas. A estas alturas los Republicanos están mentalmente desequilibrados y profoundamente hipocríticas Por esto ni siquiera constituyen interlocutores posibles.
Mientras los dueños de los cancerberos de tres cabezas saquean los “enemigos”, preparan nuevos negocios. Frida Berrigan (ver referencia al final) ofrece una lista de la masiva asistencia militar que los EE.UU. está presto a mandar al Medio Oriente, es decir, está armando viejos enemigos en nombre de la paz. ¿Cómo se emplearán estas armas? Ciertamente no quedarán almacenadas en bodegas olvidadas en los desiertos.

El sentimiento militar hacia el gobierno civil puede resumirse como simple desdeño, los uniformados y los negociantes de la muerte se comunican desde la postura cómoda donde no tienen que ser responsables ni por el pobre trabajo que hacen ni por las consecuencias desdichadas de sus actos corruptos y su total carencia de empatía para con los demás seres humanos.
