Power / El Poder : in English y en Espalol

It’s more complex than a simple reference to elections. It has to do with all public functionaries that have some power over their fellow men and women. Like Gollum-Gollum and his love for “his” ring in Tolkien’s trilogy, power seduces and corrupts.

For this reason in all countries, all functionaries –political and elected leaders, those in charge of unions, judges, congressmen and women, those elected to national assemblies, members of the police and the military and minor bureaucrats, all should be held to legal limitations. They should not be allowed to supervise, judge, decide and kill without the lawful control of the Constitution and other legal provisions, and public opinión.

This is called democracy.

Es más complejo que una simple referencia a elecciones. Tiene que ver con todos los funcionarios públicos que tienen algún poder sobre sus semejantes. Como Gollum-Gollum y el amor que siente por “su” anillo en la trilogía de Tolkien, el poder seduce y corrompe.

Por esta razón en todos los países, todos los funcionarios: los líderes elegidos, los líderes políticos, los encargados de sindicatos, los jueces, los asambleístas, los congresistas, los miembros de las fuerzas de orden y los burócratas menores, deben tener limitaciones legales y viables sobre cómo pueden obrar. No se debe poder fichar, juzgar, decidir y matar sin la vigilancia de la ley, las constituciones en cada nación y la opinión pública.

Esto se llama democracia y legalidad.
