Eats, Shoots & Leaves

ALDUS MANUTIUS (1449-1515)
Inferno, Dante, Edition: 1502

English:

I am finally reading “Eats, shoots & leaves” by Lynne Truss. It’s so delightful that I started this evening and will probably finish it before I go to bed; in fact, I only stopped because my eyes got temporarily crossed from the type. It’s amazing how a book about the correct use of commas, semicolons and the like can make you laugh out loud. I won’t quote from it because it has already been cited practically to death. Instead, I’ll just reproduce a page from an Aldus Manutius illuminated manuscript: I learned from Ms. Truss that he is the inventor of most modern punctuation.
