Paris and Ankara / París y Ankara (Español / English)

In Facebook this question is being asked: "You were Charlie, you were París, will you be Ankara?

I had to look all this up to try to understand it. I agree, what happened in Ankara is horrible, but it seems to be more complicated. That doesn't mean that a terrible injustice hasn't been done, but it was clear who the aggressors were in Paris.

On the other hand, Erdoğan, the actual president in Turkey, has his own agenda against the Kurds and blames them for everything even if they deny it. The aggressors may have been Kurds, or the IS or any other group in the region. Rivalry between the Turks and Kurds is very old. The present-day borders of Greater Kurdistan (which is now located in four different countries) was largely decided in the 20th century, and is still disputed. The Kurds want independence -and their own territory, and have a long-running quarrel with Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran over this, which is sometimes violent.

This doesn’t mean, however, that they placed the bomb in Ankara.
